M.S. in Nutrition

Overview

The 2-year M.S. in Nutrition is designed to teach you to critically analyze, communicate and disseminate current and emerging nutritional science to the public, the scientific community, and other stakeholders. Our training will prepare you for leadership positions in a variety of diverse settings including health care, industry, and government. Graduates are also prepared for advanced doctoral study.

Offering both depth and flexibility, the program allows you to choose from a range of research focus areas supported by faculty in the department. The department provides areas of specialization that include:

  • Public health nutrition and health disparities
  • Nutrient metabolism
  • Nutritional epidemiology
  • International nutrition
  • Maternal and child health
  • Nutrition and aging
  • Obesity and weight control
