About:
Ananda Kumar Biswas has 5 years of experience as a Peace Builder and Researcher in Bangladesh. In 2017, he launched a project to combat online disinformation, online hate speech, and digital literacy, which received the UNDP Bangladesh Digital Khichuri Challenge award. He has been involved in several social and community development projects for the welfare of society as a volunteer since his university days. He is a UNOY and UNOAC alumnus who received Global ToT training on Young Peace Builder and a #YouthWagingPeace workshop. He is a Rotary Peace Ambassador (Asia Cohort) and an IEP Peace Ambassador (April, Cohort; 2022). Mr. Biswas is also a Cohort 2021 alumnus of The Euphrates Peace Practice Alliance. At the University of Rhode Island, he has now earned a Level-1 certification in Kingian Nonviolence and Conflict Reconciliation. Mr. Biswas has been selected as a Global GATHER Fellow by Goldin Institutes. One of his research articles was chosen for presentation at the “International Symposium on Radicalization and Extremism in Turkey.” He was invited to participate as a Panelist there. Mr. Ananda received modest funding from “Plan International Bangladesh” to undertake a Gender-Based Violence campaign in 2019, with the topic of “Standing Against Rape.”
In 2016, he was also awarded two minor grants from “Action Aid Bangladesh”. He joined a pool of training with international & national Capacity building organizations in Bangladesh. He gave around 20 training on digital literacy, cyber security, peace building, and online hate speech. Mr. Biswas successfully completed his Teach For Bangladesh Fellowship in 2019. He also works with Caritas Bangladesh as a Child Protection Coordinator in the Rohingya Refugee Camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Mr. Ananda completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Development Studies at Khulna University. MEd in Educational Leadership & School improvement is the second master’s under BRAC University, and finally, he enrolled in master’s in communication at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh ( ULAB).
