A year and a half into the COVID-19 pandemic, Rhode Island hospital workers are leaving in droves, data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shows.

URI College of Nursing Professor Betty Rambur, the college’s Routhier Chair for Practice, joined WPRI Channel 12 reporters recently to discuss how dire the situation has become at the state’s hospitals, why it’s particularly severe for nurses, and how the staffing shortage has impacted patient care.
