7-Week Courses | Asynchronous | U.S. Citizens Only
The Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST) industry plays a crucial role in enabling growth in scientific discovery, innovation, and education, and has become a top national priority.
The rapidly increasing demand for a quantum-educated workforce is moving past the current available workforce. As an answer to the shortage of skilled professionals in this field and lack of workforce diversity, the University of Rhode Island is offering a new educational pathway for STEM professionals. This pathway leverages URI’s online Quantum Computing Graduate Certificate program in order to help professionals steer towards a career in QIST.
This program distinguishes itself from the fully-online Quantum Computing Graduate Certificate with the addition of two-day workshops in the final week of each course. These workshops provide students hands-on experiments, industrial experience, and career mentoring with the assistance of MITRE.
Through a partnership with MITRE , participants in the program will have direct access to experienced QIST professionals who will provide mentoring and focus on career development. URI and MITRE are both dedicated to bringing a diverse culture to STEM fields. URI and MITRE share the same values in diversity, equity, and inclusion, believing in the importance of diverse thought and expertise in the field.
Partnership with IBM
URI and IBM have partnered to allow URI members direct access to IBM’s most advanced quantum computers, which will allow for expanded experiential learning opportunities.
