Welcome to URI Online!
To get started with your URI Online journey you will need to set up your log-on credentials, become acquainted with the different technologies and tools in use at the University, and explore the URI resources available to you as a student.

Register for an eCampus account and set up SSO
If you are a new student at URI, follow the instructions on the Getting Started – Students page to register for an eCampus account and to set up Single Sign-On (SSO).
IMPORTANT: If you have been a student at URI before, you should be able to log on using your existing credentials.

Access your URI Email
Your URI email address will be set up upon registering your eCampus account and SSO password. You can get to your URI email account through the URI MyApps portal. You can also log in directly to GMail by following these instructions provided by the URI ITS Service Desk.
IMPORTANT: Your URI email account is where you will receive all institutional, program, and advising communication so it is important that you check it regularly!

Access your Online Courses
Brightspace is the URI system that supports teaching, learning and scholarly collaboration at the University. This is the platform in which your courses will be delivered.
IMPORTANT: Although you should be able to log in to Brightspace once your URI account is activated, you will not be able to access your courses until the start of the term.

Complete the Getting Started in Brightspace Course
To ensure you are comfortable with using Brightspace – including how to submit assignments, take quizzes, and post to the discussion board, we highly encourage you to enroll in our self-paced training course: Students Getting Started in Brightspace.

Explore Additional URI Applications
The URI My Apps site provides you with access to a host of technology tools available to students, including Microsoft365 which provides online access and downloadable installations of Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Rhody Connect is a mobile application that is a one-stop shop for all things related to life at URI. It connects you to all of the major university systems and events. Rhody Connect is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Obtain Your Student ID Card
Fully online students can obtain a Mobile URI Student ID. The back of your Mobile Student ID contains a barcode for library and recreation use.
Once your ID is ready, you can access it by downloading the Atrium Campus Connect App from the Apple App Store or Google Play App Store. Once the app is installed, choose URI and then enter your username and SSO password to log in. Your Mobile Student ID is accessible by tapping the card icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
If you have questions please email campusID@etal.uri.edu or call 401-874-2055.

Learn about URI Library Resources
All URI Online students can log into the URI Library using their Single Sign On (SSO) username and password. Visit the Library’s Getting Started page to learn more about what services and databases are available.

Order Your Textbooks
Textbooks will be listed with the URI Bookstore. Be sure to order all of your textbooks early enough to ensure delivery BEFORE your class starts. The URI Bookstore stocks a selection of URI Online textbooks for your convenience, but the URI Student Senate also has created a list of book buying tips.
