Prepare for Your Visit

ID Photo

Before arriving to campus, upload your ID photo in Atrium Campus Connect app using these steps.

Technology

Please come to orientation with your eCampus log-in and password along with your Single Sign-On log-in information. If you need assistance finding this, please email helpdesk@uri.edu or call 401.874.4357.

Math Placement

If you are in a major that requires math at the pre-calculus level or above, and have not completed precalculus or a higher level math, you need to take our math placement exam. Please be sure to discuss this with your academic advisor at Orientation on January 16, during your appointment.

Housing

Apply for on-campus housing, if applicable. No housing deposit is required. If you have questions about housing, please contact Housing and Residential Life by calling 401-874-4151, by email, or by the chat feature in URI MyHousing.

Families and Supporters

Learn more about supporting your student’s transition to URI and setting them up for success.

Attend Orientation to familiarize yourself with the URI community and our campus resources, take a campus walking tour, and enjoy a complimentary meal in one of our dining halls. We also have special opportunities for families and supporters to connect with current students to learn how you can best encourage, guide, and empower your Rhody Ram as they make URI their new home away from home.

If you have questions but are unable to attend, please contact Rhode2Ram@uri.edu.

Parking and Transportation

In order to find the proper route when you arrive to campus, follow the posted signs and the directions of the staff.

Student Parking/Drop-Off

If you are driving a car to campus, you can register your car with the University’s parking system prior to your departure.

Please select:
– “Event Permits”
– “Campus Tour Parking Pass Lot 1 only ($0.00)”
– And then enter your vehicle and contact information as directed.

The GPS address is 75 Briar Lane, Kingston, Rhode Island, 02881. There will be students to direct you to check in the Robert J. Higgins Welcome Center.

Public Transit

If you are traveling via public transportation, there are three options: bus, train, or plane.

The bus will take you to the Memorial Union Bus circle, a quick five minute walk to the student check-in.
