Activities/Class format
PHC502 is offered in a 2.75 hour block on Friday afternoon. There will be 1 or 2 lectures per class period with a 15-minute break. Students are expected to keep up with assigned textbook and posted readings prior to each class. There is a midterm and a final exam supplemented by a presentation and term paper. This class should serve as an excellent bridge to understanding how drugs are made and regulated.
Students will leave the class with an in-depth understanding of the drug discovery and development process, along with the factors that impact efficacy, safety, approval, marketing, and post-market monitoring.
