January 10, 2019
Annual event gives prospective students a look at what they can expect at URI
The URI College of Pharmacy hosted high school students from around the region Friday, Nov. 16 for its annual High School Day, showcasing the College to prospective students.
Pharmacy students and faculty members led students through a tour of Avedisian Hall and detailed the programs they can expect to be a part of should they choose to attend the College. Displays in the lobby included a CPR demonstration, a collection of DNA models fashioned by the College’s 3-D printer, a look into the College’s virtual reality goggles, and samples from the College’s Heber Youngken Jr. Medicinal Garden, along with information about the various groups and organizations available to pharmacy students. The high school students also toured the advanced simulation lab, touching the lifelike mannequins used to train pharmacists in a hospital-like setting.
