Biography
Professor Marcoux has a bachelor of science in pharmacy and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She worked extensively with the Pharmacy Benefit Management industry developing formularies, clinical protocols and negotiating contracts with the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacies. She has worked Medicaid agencies as well as private health insurance providers and employers throughout the country.
Professor Marcoux continues to work with both public and private agencies to develop strategies that maximize the ability of healthcare plans and providers to meet beneficiaries’ pharmacy and healthcare needs while ensuring the cost-effectiveness of the medication programs. Her area of research interest include benefit design and pharmacoeconomics as well as pharmacy’s impact of culturally diverse populations. She currently has funded project with the Rhode Island Department of Corrections and serves in the role of the Director of the Pharmacy Outreach Program in the College of Pharmacy.
