Honoring Dr. Thomas J. Kalista

Dr. Thomas J. Kalista was more than a clinical assistant professor at the College of Pharmacy—he was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and unwavering dedication to his students, Dr. Kalista brought passion and energy to the classroom and beyond. A proud alumnus of URI’s Doctor of Pharmacy program, he devoted his career to improving patient care and preparing future pharmacists to do the same.

Dr. Kalista’s guiding mantra, “What is our job? Five words: Take care of the patient,” encapsulated his commitment to the profession and left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Through the Gifts in Memory of Dr. Thomas J. Kalista Fund, his legacy of compassion and excellence will continue to inspire and support the next generation of healthcare professionals.
