Training
As a URI faculty, student or staff member involved in the conduct of research, you may be required or requested to take compliance training for a variety of reasons (e.g., federal requirements) and on a variety of topics, such as:
- Human and animal subject protection (e.g., human subjects protections, animal care and use)
- Responsible conduct of research (e.g., authorship, mentoring, conflicts of interest, data collection & dissemination, etc.)
- Financial conflict of interest (FCOI)
- Biological safety (e.g., working with blood-borne pathogens, biohazards, etc.)
- Export control compliance
- Dangerous Goods and Shipping

URI utilizes Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) for online regulatory compliance training. Courses are offered in human subjects protection, animal care and use, financial conflict of interest, export controls, responsible conduct of research, and biosafety.
