14th Annual Summer Undergraduate Research Conference Update

The University of Rhode Island (URI) was excited to host the Annual RI Summer Undergraduate Research Conference in person on July 30, 2021. More than 140 students shared poster presentations of their summer research experiences with RI-INBRE SURF and SURF+, RI-INBRE Bridge to Graduate School, RI NSF EPSCoR/C-AIM SURF, URI MARC U*STAR, and URI Science and Engineering. Research fellows were joined by friends and family, faculty mentors, and staff from URI, the Community College of Rhode Island, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, and Rhode Island School of Design. We are proud to have Dr. Kelli J. Armstrong, President of Salve Regina University as our keynote speaker. Welcoming Remarks were delivered by Dr. Samantha Meenach, RI-INBRE Training Core Director, Dr. Donald H. DeHayes, URI Provost, Dr. Peter J. Snyder, URI Vice President of Research and Economic Development, and Dr. Jim Lemire, NSF EPSCoR/RI C-AIM SURF Coordinator.
