There is a new reason to visit America’s first mall, The Arcade, in Downtown Providence. Co-zy Ice Cream Café opened its doors on July 8th and we can’t get over their delicious homemade ice cream. Owner and serial entrepreneur, Anh Tuyet Nguyen, is the woman behind the business. Along with her friend and culinary expert, Karl Guggenmos, Anh contacted the RISBDC for guidance on permits, regulations, and a business plan to give structure to their venture. Five months later, Anh and Karl celebrated the grand opening of Co-zy Ice Cream Café in the middle of a hot summer, the perfect time for ice cream!
Co-zy Ice Cream Café is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am – 7pm and Sundays from NOON – 10pm and offers homemade ice cream in just about every flavor. They make something for every type of ice cream lover: cone lickers, bowl scoopers, vegan fans, or dietary-specific friends. Their signature products include ice cream served in a warm waffle cup, affogatos (ice-cream with hot coffee), and bubble tea. They also serve a variety of freshly baked goods.
Anh and Karl invested over $40,000 in the business and created four new jobs. They continue to work with the RISBDC on marketing strategies to make their business grow.
“The SBDC has been an invaluable partner and provided so much support to get us open.”
