Declutter Pronto

As the owner of Declutter Pronto, Laurie Lindemann revolutionizes her clients’ homes and helps organize their overstuffed spaces into usable, organized areas tailored to their needs. But Lindemann’s success relies on entering her clients’ homes and offices—and the COVID-19 pandemic took a heavy toll.

Like many other small business owners, Lindemann needed help, fast. Her local SBDC referred to COVID relief programs that she was eligible for, and she jumped at the opportunity.

With the help of Josh Daly, the Southern Region Director, and the RISBDC, Lindemann applied for the Rhode Island Small Business Relief Grant. She was accepted and received her check in May 2021. The RI Relief Grant provided much-needed funds, and it also allowed her to revisit her PPP loan application. Changes to the PPP application process enabled her to use her gross income versus her net profit to complete the PPP loan application with a local credit union. Lindemann was accepted for the PPP loan, clearing the way for her business to move in a positive direction as COVID-19 restrictions lift.

“Thanks to these two programs I feel as though I’ve turned the page and I’m on my way to a profitable 2021,” Lindemann commented about the RI Relief Grant and PPP loan. “To me, the loan and grant not only provide financial assistance but peace of mind. Getting help made me more optimistic and hopeful, therefore, more motivated to keep moving forward.”
