Owners Jason and Jess Case began their coffee journey in 2010 with their business, Presto Strange O Coffee Co., on a trailer. Over time, Presto Strange O has built up quite a following as their mobile coffee truck has been located at a variety of Rhode Island events, such as the Providence Flea Market and local company offices. With the increased customer following, in 2020, Jason and Jess decided to find a permanent home to their beloved coffee shop, to tag along with their company on wheels.
Both owners being Warwick natives, Jason and Jess found their ideal location in their local neighborhood. To obtain this location, Jason and Jess worked with Amit Basnet and the RISBDC to prepare their financials and business plan for a loan application. The couple was able to close an SBA 504 loan to purchase their new brick-and-mortar location in March 2021.
Additionally, to the closing on the building, with the SBA loan, Jason and Jess were able to start working on renovations and permits to prepare for an opening in June 2021. On time, the Presto Strange O Warwick location was able to open on June 15th, with their devoted customer base graciously waiting for the doors to open.
Presto Strange O creates signature coffee beverages, in house pastries, as well as a variety of breakfast and lunch items. As their business continues to be successful on Warwick Neck Ave. and on the road, Jason and Jess states “I don’t think it [the acquiring of the brick-and-mortar location] would have been possible without the help we received from Amit and the SBA.”
