Our mission
Funded by Rhode Island’s Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals (BHDDH), we honor all pathways to recovery, offering peer support, wellness education, and sober spaces that empower students to thrive academically, socially, and personally. While the Collegiate Recovery Program is staffed by graduate and licensed professionals who offer support and guidance, the program does not provide formal treatment or therapy services and is not a substitute for clinical treatment of substance use or mental health conditions.
Our Programming
We welcome all URI students who are in or seeking recovery and supporters of recovery to participate in our programming and events.

The Lounge
Located in room 118 of the Memorial Union, the Lounge is a substance-free, drop-in space where students can relax between classes, connect with peers, find quiet reflection time, and learn about upcoming events.
“I look forward to going to campus now knowing I have a space where I can feel at home. This is the best space, and these are the best people ever.”Anonymous
