Spring Preparatory Program (PREP) /Enrollment with Talent Development
All accepted students are required to:
- attend PREP on March 16, 2024
Information related to PREP 2024 will be sent via email to applicants who have been accepted to URI through TD
- complete the Intent to Enroll Form and TD Grant Eligibility Contract by May 15, 2024
These documents will be made available at PREP 2024
- All accepted students are highly encouraged to attend one of the URI Welcome Days

URI New Student Orientation
All accepted incoming TD Scholars* are required to register for and attend New Student Orientation (NSO) prior to the start of the TD Summer Success Program. Registration instructions for the New Student Orientation can be found here. TD pays for the NSO fee for accepted TD Scholars.
* Transfer Scholars must register for and attend Transfer Student Orientation. Details can be found here. TD pays for the NSO fee for accepted TD Transfer Scholars.
Connecting with TD Advisors
All accepted TD Scholars are assigned a TD Advisor who supports their transition and success at URI. Scholars are required to meet with their TD Advisor for one group advising session prior to the start of the TD Summer Success Program.

TD Summer Success Program (TDSSP)
All accepted TD Scholars are required to participate in the Talent Development Summer Success Program (TDSSP) on URI’s Kingston Campus. TDSSP 2024 is scheduled from Sunday, July 7, 2024, through Friday, August 9, 2024.

Academic Year
During the academic year, TD Scholars are supported through intensive academic advising which connects Scholars with on and off-campus resources, builds community, instills confidence, and promotes Scholar success.
During the academic year, Scholars must:
- be full-time (e.g., a minimum of 12 credits)
- reside on the Kingston campus until the end of their first year–this requirement can be subject to certain exceptions
- meet with their assigned TD Advisor
- remain in good academic standing to be eligible for the need-based Hardge/Forleo Grant
