Course Development Resources

One of the key features of the General Education program is the focus on student learning outcomes (SLOs). To help faculty with the design of their courses, the Office for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning  (ATL) provides a considerable amount of information on aspects of course design and delivery and staff are available to help. 

For those new to creating student outcomes centered courses, ATL provides a guide for specifying Developing and Writing Student Learning Outcomes with a number of useful hints. There is also an extensive Guide to Writing Objectives Using Bloom’s Taxonomy at UNC that provides useful information on the relationship between objectives and student outcomes.
