Ocean of Opportunity: Sarah

Sarah O’Sullivan

Graduate Student

Masters of Environmental Science and Management (MESM) on an Environmental Communication Track. Recent graduate of URI’s Marine Biology undergraduate program.

About Sarah
I hope to one day be an Environmental Educator. I believe that education and public outreach are some of the most important things we can do to protect our oceans and give the public a greater understanding of marine life. Outside of school and work, you can usually find me somewhere on the water. I love to surf, sail, kayak, and SCUBA dive!

What I’m Doing Now

I just wrapped up an internship on Block Island, a tiny island 12 miles off the coast of Rhode Island, where I was a Marine Educator all summer. I am continuing my Masters degree, and will be a teaching assistant for BIO 103, an introductory biology lab this fall.

Favorite Thing About URI

Being introduced to my best friends and learning so many new skills. I have learned how to surf, SCUBA dive, and sail all on top of taking classes as an undergrad at URI.
