Overview

Undergraduates pursuing a Computer Science B.S., Data Science B.A., or the Data Science B.S. degree are expected to serve on an internship or project during their junior or senior year. Students are required to enroll in CSC 477 or CSC 499. CSC 477 is for students doing an internship while CSC 499 is for students who are doing research with a faculty member. Data Science majors interested in statistical consulting may use STA/DSP 490 instead. Students in this course serve on an internship for 12-15 hours per week during the semester, or work on a capstone project that will prepare them for careers in industry or for graduate study.

While most students do an internship, it is also possible to do a project with a faculty member on campus.
