Selling out in seconds not unlike a rock concert or Red Sox game, The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is a no joke conference when it comes to securing a spot !!   This Fall the Department of Computer Science & Statistics was fortunate enough to send several women in our program to Orlando to participate in the largest gathering of women in computing. The venue is designed to bring research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront.   “The number of strong, smart, confident women attending the conference was almost overwhelming but we had a chance to talk to so many of them, including representatives of many tech companies.”  reported Yana Hrytsenko a current PhD student. “It was truly an inspiring event! It was amazing to see so many supportive and passionate women in the tech field.” commented Lydia Crandall a current undergraduate student.
