DWELL Lab was featured in the Spring 2023 edition of URI’s research magazine, Momentum: Research and Innovation. The article highlights DWELL’s work in the North Woods, and how technology can play a role in connecting people and place: “Jones uses digital technology to connect communities to the cultural, historical, and ecological significance of places. He develops this place-based work through a layored approach to storytelling called ‘deep mapping.'” The article also highlights the graduate student course, Rhetorical Field Methods, which is taught by DWELL Director Dr. Jones and facilitates student-led projects about the North Woods.
The full story can be found on page 22 of the Spring 2023 edition of Momentum Magazine, and you can read more about the North Woods Project here.
