Biography
Dhaval Solanki, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India.
His research bridges medical electronics, wearable health technologies, and digital health systems to create accessible, scalable healthcare solutions. Focusing on medical circuits, devices, smart textiles, and biosignal processing, he integrates engineering, data science, and human-centered design to enable real-time psychophysiological and behavioral health monitoring, aiming to shift healthcare from reactive to continuous, personalized care.
Over his career, Dr. Solanki has contributed to federally and foundation-funded projects, authored several peer-reviewed publications, and mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students. He has taught a wide range of courses in electrical and biomedical engineering, integrating theory with hands-on design.
