Adult Education Specialization

Curriculum

Core Courses

The following courses are required (3 credits each):

  • EDC 505: Leadership Development for Adult Programs
  • EDC 529: Foundations of Educational Research
  • EDC 583: Planning, Design and Development of Adult Learning Systems
  • EDC 584: The Adult and the Learning Process
  • EDC 575: Supervised Field Practicum in Adult Education—(if you choose the non-thesis route-to be completed in your final semester/s OR
  • EDC 599-Thesis (2 semesters-6 credits)

Specialization Areas

In addition to the required courses (above), you will complete 6 additional 3 credit courses during the program. The following sample list of specialization areas are provided as a guide. You can choose one of those areas and complete its associated courses, or you may design a unique specialization with the help of your advisor, in order to meet your individual career goals, needs and interests.
