Service and Community Life Committee (Faculty Senate By-Laws 4.60 – 4.64)
The Service and Community Life Committee supports the mission of the university by studying and recommending policies to enhance effective faculty governance and oversight; the supportive and diverse nature of the URI community; and URI’s engagement with the broader local, national and international community.
The Committee shall meet at least once a month and shall prepare and present, in March of each year, an annual report to the Faculty Senate including a review of current initiatives, policies, and practices as well as recommendations for future improvements.

The Committee’s mid-year report for AY 2023-2024 was presented on February 22, 2024. The report offered recommendations regarding revisions to the Office of the University Ombuds.
