What you need to do
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year to be considered for all federal, state and university aid. The application is open until June 30th.
- Create an account and username (FSA ID) for StudentAid.gov. Your contributors (e.g. parent for dependent students) will need their own FSA ID as well.
- URI’s School Code: 003414
- Check Award Status
- First Year and Transfer Students visit the Admission Portal in late April to view their award. Students will receive an email from Admissions telling them when their award is ready to view.
- Returning students will receive a URI e-mail notification in early July which can be view in e-campus
- Check your URI e-mail and your To Do List in e-campus for any missing information required to complete the awarding process.
E-Bill’s will be available for First Year and Transfer Students in mid-July.
For contributors with no Social Security Number (SSN)

- Contributor: Someone who has been asked to help a student fill out the 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. Contributors may include the student’s parents, the student’s stepparents, or the student’s spouse.
