Eleven sororities at the University of Rhode Island are governed by the Panhellenic Association. Every woman who is a member of one of the eleven NPC sororities on campus is a member of the Panhellenic Association. The Panhellenic Council is the governing body of the women’s sorority system at the University of Rhode Island.
The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) is the governing body of the Panhellenic Council. All policies instituted by the Panhellenic Council have been developed in accordance with NPC policies and recommendations.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is a member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, which governs the nine historically Black Greek Organizations, also know at the Divine 9.
