Josh Stockwell

Biography

Attorney Josh Stockwell holds a bachelor of science in computer science from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He served more than four years in the United States Air Force as an airfield operations officer in charge of air traffic control and base operations at McGuire Air Force Base, NJ and overseas during Operation Southern Watch. After separating from the Air Force, Josh relocated to Rhode Island where he attended law school and, upon graduation, started practicing Intellectual Property law in Providence at Barlow, Josephs & Holmes, Ltd., focusing his law practice on patent and trademark counseling, application filing, and prosecution. Josh has counseled companies ranging in size from sole proprietorships to Fortune 500.

While his background is in computer science, Josh has extensive patent prosecution experience in the mechanical arts, including eye safety equipment, small arms accessories, dispensing closures, gas turbine and jet engines, and three-dimensional manufacturing methods. Josh also have experience working with fiber optic lasers, fiber optic telecommunications devices, LED lighting devices, vertical cavity lasers, coated ink-jet papers, thermally conductive plastics compositions, consumer furniture products, and various medical devices and surgical methods.

Since January 2018, Josh has worked at McInnes & McLane LLP, where he has added litigation and dispute resolution skills to his daily practice.
