What You Can Do

Virtual Reality

The XR Lab is the perfect space for students to immerse themselves in virtual reality using high-quality VR headsets like the HTC Vive Pro and Oculus Quest 2. Not sure how to do it? Someone from the Library Innovation Labs will always be happy to get you started.

Media Production

Students can access the space to produce mixed media content, music, and podcasts using top-notch equipment, including microphones and portable sound booths. The lab provides industry-standard software to record, edit, and produce media.

Studio Space

The XR Lab is stocked with equipment for photography and videography including lights, cameras, and backdrops. Build your set your way using our modular equipment and recording space.


How To Do It

The XR Lab at URI is a popular and versatile space that can be reserved for a range of activities, from virtual reality gaming to media production and podcast recording. Students can reserve the lab for private sessions or group activities, taking advantage of the lab’s cutting-edge equipment, including VR headsets, podcast microphones, and editing software.
