KINGSTON, RI – [10/26/2023] – The URI Library Innovation Labs is thrilled to announce the opening of its latest technology space resource, the Audio Media Lab. This innovative space is dedicated to empowering students from all disciplines to unleash their creativity by recording podcasts and other audio media projects. Designed to cater to all skill levels, the Audio Media Lab offers essential technology and equipment while ensuring the highest quality output.

The Audio Media Lab, located within the URI Library Innovation Labs, has built-in hardware such as microphones and a sound mixing board, as well as recording software in a private booth to help support content creation. Whether you’re a budding podcaster, a musician, or someone simply looking to explore the world of audio, this resource is open and accessible to all students. Best of all, it’s completely free to use!

One of the standout features of the Audio Media Lab is the presence of Christian Olesanoye, a student Multimedia Technician. Christian is available to provide free consultations and training to students, ensuring that they can make the most of the lab’s resources and produce high-quality audio content.

Christian’s goal is to help students “stop dreaming, and start doing” their creative projects. Students interested in learning the basics in media production can talk to Christian during his weekly office hours.

Christian will also be producing urURI, an original podcast from the URI Library Innovation Labs. The urURI Podcast will explore different humans of the URI community, giving students an opportunity to gain additional perspectives. Get to know other personalities and disciplines on campus, all in the amount of time it takes to walk to class!

The Audio Media Lab is open Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
