URI French students win environmental challenge

The winning team of an international environmental challenge – including professor Karen de Bruin, and group members Temitope Aina, Rachel DiMartino, Geo Espinoza, Aidan Kindopp, Gavin O’Connell, Justine Thiare, and Allison Vanasse

URI French students won a virtual environmental challenge hosted by URI’s partner institution, the University of Rennes 2 in Rennes, France. Focused on how to make university communities more sustainable and conducted entirely in French, the competition included two teams from URI and three teams from the University of Madrid.

Six URI students win Boren scholarships, fellowships to study languages overseas

The Good 5-Cent Cigar: According to the Modern Language Association’s preliminary report, enrollment in foreign language studies in the United States fell by 9.2 percent while it increased by over a hundred students at the URI.
