Study Spaces

24-Hour Study Room

During the academic year, the 24-Hour Study Room will be open every night, including weekends. The 24 Hour Room is accessible through the Library until 11:00 pm. After 11:00 pm assume you will need to swipe your URI ID to enter through the brown door in the Library entryway.

That entrance to the 24 Hour Room can be accessed via the card swipe lock with your URI ID. If you encounter any difficulties entering the room prior to the Library’s closing at 2:00 am, please see the staff at the Circulation Desk. If after 2:00 am, please make Circulation aware of this access issue the following day.

Library materials may be used in the 24 Hour Room after that time as long as they have been checked out at the Circulation Desk.

Graduate Research/Study Carrels

Individual Research/Study Carrels are designed for graduate students working on dissertations, theses, or research projects that are part of the student’s graduate program and need Library accessibility. Requests to use a study carrel should be made at the Circulation Desk.

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms are located on Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the University Library, Kingston. Requests to use a group study room should be made at the Circulation Desk.

Lockers

The University Library, Kingston makes 30 individual lockers available to library patrons to facilitate using materials located in the library. Lockers are located in the South East corner of the Library’s Lower Level.

If you wish to obtain a key for a locker, please inquire at the Circulation Desk.
