Overview
This activity will continue the development of an integrative technological and analytical observation program for MDBC that uses both short-term and long-term benthic observations in the Gulf of Mexico to determine baseline conditions and characterize key environmental and community conditions. This activity utilizes a wide variety of benthic observing and habitat restoration approaches, including the deployment and recovery of benthic landers and an elevator system to transport samples, experiments, and equipment. It will also support environmental characterization goals from ship-based datasets.
