Overview

An important component of the NRDA Mesophotic and Deep Benthic Communities (MDBC) program is connecting and communicating with diverse audiences about the intent, importance, and impacts of the program’s restoration and management activities, especially given the innovative nature of restoration work in the mesophotic and deep benthic zones. The University of Rhode Island’s Inner Space Center (ISC) aims to enhance these connections by taking a comprehensive approach to the communication of the project, focusing on longer-term and more meaningful engagement with the people at sea and on land. We will accomplish this through a combination of targeted audience engagement, science communication training, media production, and interactive live program development that tells the scientific and human stories of MDBC missions and the broader restoration program as a whole.
