Overview

The URI-GSO Inner Space Center is providing telepresence engineering support services to connect ships to shore during selected MDBC cruises for up to 50 days at sea. This activity involves the development of satellite, network, video, and data engineering systems in support of the ships and vehicle systems used by scientists involved in the projects. It will also involve the development of similar systems on shore that will record and distribute video, synchronize data, and support shore-based operations.  The live expedition support has been preceded by planning, development, testing, mobilization, and training related to all subsystems that will be required to support the telepresence activities.
