Every first-year (freshman) student who neither brings a vehicle to campus nor purchases a parking pass is eligible to receive a free Rhode Island Public Transit Authority U-Pass. RIPTA provides safe, reliable transportation statewide including several routes from campus to Providence.
Nursing undergraduates enrolled in classes at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center, 350 Eddy St., Providence, are eligible to receive a free, all-access RIPTA U-Pass. Get your pass at the Parking and Transportation Services Office, Kingston campus, 44 Lower College Road.
Passes are available as of September 1.
You must present a valid URI ID to obtain your U-Pass.
Report lost or stolen passes to the URI Parking and Transportation Office. Passes canceled, lost, stolen, or obsolete will be reported to RIPTA and will no longer work in the fareboxes. There is a replacement fee of $20.00 for lost, stolen or damaged cards.
