Admission

We welcome passionate, driven students ready to make a difference in healthcare. Whether you’re entering from high school or transferring from URI or another college, we’re excited to have you consider our program.

Our candidates come from diverse academic backgrounds with a strong interest in science, mathematics, and innovative healthcare practices. Whatever your path, we’re here to support your journey to success. There are two entry paths:

1. High School Admission: Applicants must meet college-preparatory unit requirements, typically completed in high school:

  • English: 4 units
  • Math: 3 units (Algebra I, Algebra II, and Plane Geometry)
  • Science: 2 units
  • History/Social Science: 2 units
  • Foreign Language: 2 units of the same language

Apply by the Early Action deadline for priority consideration.
Admissions decisions are typically provided by January 31.

Scholarships: No separate application is required for merit-based scholarships. To be considered, apply by the published deadlines. Note: Merit awards are not available to those who already hold a bachelor’s degree or attend URI through discounted tuition programs.

2. Transfer Admission: All students must meet college-preparatory unit requirements (typically completed in high school):

  • 4 in English.
  • 3 in math (algebra I, algebra II, and plane geometry).
  • 2 in science.
  • 2 in history/social science.
  • 2 units in the same foreign language.

Transfer Application Deadline: March 1. (Later applications are reviewed case-by-case)

Transfer Credit & Status Requirements:

  • If you have attempted fewer than 24 transferable credits, you must have a minimum GPA of 2.8/4.0 and meet all first-year student admission requirements.
  • If you have attempted 24 transferable credits or more, you must have a GPA of 2.5/4.0.
  • If you have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, you must have a minimum GPA of 2.4/4.0.

Credits earned for culinary arts or applied technical sciences courses are not transferable. Credit is not granted for remedial or developmental coursework. Only courses with grades of “C” or better will be considered for transfer credit (grades of “C-” and below do not transfer).

A completed transfer application includes:

SAT/ACT scores are not required for transfer students. Students with more than 60 credits must select a major other than “undecided.”
