LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this knowledge-based program, participants will be able to:
• List the available long acting injectable antipsychotics and compare safety, ease of use, administration, and cost for each;
• Describe the new varieties of synthetic drugs of abuse and their pharmacologic profiles;
• Explore the literature regarding the usage of psychostimulant medications to improve neurocognitive function in patients with primary brain tumors;
• Discuss the prescribing and distribution of naloxone in Rhode Island
• Explain the risks associated with use of antipsychotics in elderly patients and dementia-related psychosis;
• Discuss pharmacologic treatment options for adults with ADHD;
• Discuss drug interactions associated with smoking and psychotropic medications;
• Identify challenges and barriers to treatment success that transitioning patients between care settings present.
