COP ranked among top 10 in the nation for post-graduate residencies

URI pharmacy students interested in pursuing post-grad residences are very well prepared, thanks the URI Residency/Fellowship Preparation Program. In fact, last year the College ranked 10th nationally among 127 schools for matching 86 percent of its participating students with an appropriate post-graduate residency program. The national average is 63 percent.

URI pharmacy students shoot, star in videos to promote vaccination

While pharmacists are known for working behind the counter, Jeffrey Bratberg a University of Rhode Island pharmacy professor also gave his students a chance to get behind the camera. Communicating Vaccines, a pharmacy elective course, focuses on identification, prevention and control of infectious diseases that pose threats to public health. Students in the class were not only tasked with completing reading assignments but with producing their own videos to promote positive information about vaccines.

Pharmacy alumna, Kristin Von Flatern '14, takes life-saving action to help customer suffering allergic reaction

Class of 2014 alumna Kristin Von Flatern hasn’t been on the job as a pharmacist at the Centerville, Mass. CVS/pharmacy a full year yet, but she’s already played a key role in saving a patient’s life. Let’s just say that her quick action with a customer suffering from anaphylactic shock on Dec. 26 was probably the best belated Christmas present he ever received.
