Physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models are based on real tissues rather than imaginary compartments. This simulation model contains 11 tissues/organs and demonstrates how PBPK models are built using tissue blood flow and volume and the drug specific parameter of the tissue plasma partition coefficient (Kp). It displays simulated drug concentrations in several tissues and demonstrates the effect of changing tissue blood flow and a drug’s Kp.
