2022 RI IDeA Emerging Area of Science Symposium

The 2022 symposium returned this year both in-person and virtually in the day-long hybrid event, with participation from the COBRE, RI-INBRE, and Advance CTR programs. The June 10th event was held in Providence at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and attracted investigators, research staff, stakeholders, and community members across the state. The 2022 symposium theme was “Health Disparities in Clinical and Translational Research” with the purpose of educating and engaging biomedical investigators in RI.

Dr. Jamie Towle-Weicksel of Rhode Island College represented RI-INBRE and presented a platform talk entitled “The RI College Undergraduate Experience: Elucidating the Mechanism of DNA Pol Theta in Cancer.”

Dr. Bongsup Cho co-chaired the “Pilot Projects Breakout Session” with Dr. Sharon Rounds, Advance-CTR Program Director.
