Register
New Students
If this is your first time registering for a course at the University of Rhode Island, welcome!
There are five steps to register for URI Summer. Even if you have taken a course at URI before (or have previously applied to take one), please follow the instructions listed below to take a URI Summer class this year as a non-matriculating student.

- Complete the Non-Degree Application Form. If you see an error message, please try closing your browser (or using a different web browser or device) and then try again. If you continue to have trouble accessing the form, please email Mary Mullane for further troubleshooting. Please note, even if you have already completed a URI non-degree application form for a previous academic term (fall, spring, summer, or J Term), your existing URI e-Campus account will not be activated for course registration for this summer until you have completed a new version of this application form specifically for the Summer 2024 term.
Non-Degree Application Form - Within three business days of the submission of your application form, you will receive your URI Student ID# via an email from Mary Mullane, Specialist for URI Summer Sessions & Winter J Term. Be sure to check your spam folder for receipt of this notification. If this is your first time applying to take a course at URI, you will then use your URI ID# to register for e-Campus, URI’s student information system. To create your e-Campus account, visit https://web.uri.edu/ecampus/ and click on the “New e-Campus User Registration” link. You will create a username and password.
- Follow these step-by-step instructions for enrolling in URI courses via e-Campus.
- You will be able to access your uri.edu email address within several hours of your URI Summer course registration. For instructions on accessing your uri.edu Google Workspace account, visit the URI ITS Google Workspace webpage. The username you select for e-Campus will also serve as your URI email User ID. Your G-Suite password will be the password you created in e-Campus registration, or your very first e-Campus password. You are encouraged to change your password at https://password.uri.edu/. You will be prompted to change your password at first login. URI Enrollment Services will use your uri.edu email to notify you when your e-Bill is ready to view and pay in e-Campus, your professor will use it to alert you of important class information, and URI administrators will use it for URI Summer notifications. If you encounter any issues related to your URI e-Campus or uri.edu accounts, please contact the URI IT Service Desk at 401-874-4357 or helpdesk@uri.edu. You can also visit the Virtual Service Desk for assistance.
- Make sure your full-time university or college will accept the credits you earn through URI Summer courses. Your school will have an online database of courses accepted for credit from outside institutions and a transfer credit form that you will need to complete and submit to your school if you plan to take a URI course that has not been previously accepted by your school. Completing such a form often requires a course syllabus and/or URI course description. Search all official URI Course Descriptions here. For a copy of a URI syllabus, email the instructor listed for the class. You can visit the URI Faculty/Staff Directory to lookup the appropriate email address.
