URI Summer Billing
Students can view and pay their Summer semester balances by logging into their Payment and e-Bill Portal. Learn more about your Flywire Payment and e-Bill Portal.
URI Enrollment Services will start the summer tuition and fee assessment process during the first week of May, which is when students will be able to see charges on their e-Campus Account Summary and in their Payment and e-Bill Portal. Students who still have an unpaid Summer term balance as of August 1 will be assessed a late payment fee and their ability to enroll for future classes will be put on hold by URI Enrollment Services. During the summer billing period, account activity is updated in real time, so account balances and account activity will always reflect current information. Please also note that although paper invoices are not mailed, account statements can be printed through the Portal.

URI Summer Cost CalculatorThe URI Summer Cost Calculator allows students to accurately estimate the cost of prospective Summer Sessions registration before making enrollment decisions in e-Campus. Please note that these estimates will not be able to account for any financial aid awards for which a student may be eligible. Such awards can only be viewed in e-Campus after successful registration. All official billing and payment functions for URI Summer remain housed in e-Campus.

Transcript Fee: A one-time fee of $50 is assessed to all students if this is their first enrollment at the University. All former and current students are exempt.
Continuous Registration Fee: Graduate students maintaining continuous enrollment and registered for no credit (CRG 999) are required to pay a fee of $383 per semester.

Applied Music Lessons Fee: Students taking applied music courses are charged an additional fee of $450 for a one-credit course (half hour of a private lesson per week) and $900 for courses offering two, three, four, or six credits (one hour of a private lesson per week). Applied music courses for which students are charged an additional fee are MUS 110, 210, 310, 410, and 510.

Inclusive Access Digital Fee: Inclusive Access is a course material affordability program, designed by institutions and guided by the Department of Education to deliver digital learning resources to students, at a significantly reduced cost, on or before the first day of class. This fee may be charged for certain undergraduate and graduate courses. This fee covers the cost of digital content needed for the course and is accessible before the first day of class. Additional information is available from the course instructor or the URI Campus Store.

Financial Aid
Year-Round Pell Grants for URI Undergraduates
If you are a matriculating URI undergraduate currently receiving a Pell Grant during this academic year, you may be eligible to receive an additional financial aid award, called Year-Round Pell, to be put toward your URI Summer tuition and fees. In addition to being Pell-eligible, here are additional requirements to receive a Year-Round Pell award this summer:
- Have a Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) on file with URI Enrollment Services
- Meet the criteria for Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Have Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU) less than 600%
The Year-Round Pell Grant uses funding otherwise reserved for a student’s 12th academic semester of Pell eligibility to put a financial aid award toward summer tuition and fees. As long as you plan to earn your bachelor’s degree in 5-and-a-half years or less, a Year-Round Pell Grant allows you to maximize the federal government’s contribution to your undergraduate education without reducing any Pell Grant award that you might be eligible to receive during a future fall or spring semester. The dollar amount of a Year-Round Pell Grant award for a summer term varies by student.
Rhode Island residents who are eligible for the Year-Round Pell Grant are also likely to be eligible for the accompanying URI Summer Pell Completion Grant, a form of “last-dollar” institutional financial aid that fully subsidizes tuition and fees for up to 8 URI Summer credits.
A student who has questions about Pell Grant funding for this summer is encouraged to make a Financial Aid Counseling appointment via Starfish as soon as possible. Other Financial Aid
If you are a matriculating URI student registered for six or more credits for URI Summer Sessions, you may be eligible for Federal Direct Loans to help finance your summer term tuition and fees. Once you are officially registered for up to 8 credits on e-Campus for this summer, complete the Summer 2025 Direct Loan Application.
If needed, students can always set up a Webex appointment or a phone appointment for URI Financial Aid Counseling through Starfish.
