Reserving Space

*Please note: we are not accepting any new reservations for Spring 2024.

Step 1: Check availability

If you would like to hold your meeting, conference, or special event at the Higgins Welcome Center, please check availability using our calendar before booking.

Step 2: Request space

If you have booked a room in one of URI’s other facilities before (College of Pharmacy, Memorial Union, Multicultural Student Services Center, Recreational Facilities, and the Quad), you should be able to log in as usual with your EMS account. 

If you have never booked a room using our EMS system, you will need to request an EMS account. Once approved (usually within 24 hours), you will be able to request rooms in the Higgins Welcome Center.

Step 3: Receive confirmation

Once your room request is reviewed and approved by the Higgins Welcome Center reservation team, you will receive a confirmation email and be able to view the event on the Higgins Welcome Center calendar with the status “confirmed” or “confirmed-web.”  Please note that all requests for the Meeting Room are automatically confirmed. Confirmation of the Meeting Room requests can be found on your EMS portal.
