February is Black History Month
One cannot tell the story of America without reflecting on the places where African Americans have made history. “Hallowed Grounds: Sites of African American Memories” is the 2016 theme for Black History Month. The library exhibit includes sites of places where the African American story unfolded; sites where slave ships disembarked, where blood was shed for the struggle for freedom and where education was pursued. The lobby display showcases a representative sampling of these sites.
