Academic Advising Resources

In URI’s B.A. program in Sports Media and Communication, students gain critical and theoretical knowledge and practical experience in sports journalism, broadcasting, public relations, writing, communication, and sports data and analytics. Courses range from critical-cultural analysis to quantitative and critical-analytical studies of sports media and communication. Course work is coupled with practical and professional experience in various aspects of the sports media and communication industry via a required internship.

Major Entry Requirements

  • Complete 24 units and have a minimum GPA of 2.00
  • Complete COM 100 (or 100H) with a grade of at least “C”
  • Complete URI 101
