Is the university open?
The university is open, but operations are limited. This is an evolving situation, so please refer to the appropriate websites for the latest information.

Are classes cancelled?
Classes are not cancelled, but all face-to-face classes are suspended for the remainder of the year. All classes will be remote. Your professors will contact you to provide guidance as to how your classes will proceed.

Is my online class cancelled?
If you are currently enrolled in an online class, classes are not cancelled and will be held as scheduled.

Is registration cancelled?
No, fall registration is not affected by these changes. You should still register for classes per your scheduled enrollment time. All student holds for advising have been lifted.

Please refer to your major’s curriculum sheet as you choose your courses. Curriculum sheets can be found on the website for your major, under the curriculum tab.

When is minor and non-business major registration?
Registration for business minors and non-business students is April 10. See more information here

Can I register for summer classes?
Yes, summer registration is open. See more information about summer classes here.

I need academic advising help. Are academic advisors available during this time?

Academic Advisors are available to assist you. There will be no walk-in hours for the remainder of the year. All appointments will be conducted over the phone or email.

Schedule your advising appointment through Starfish or call 401.874.2337. Advisors will call you at the number provided at your scheduled time. This is to ensure the safety of you and others.

I need a degree audit. Can an advisor help me?
Yes, advisors are available. Please contact them for help.

I have an internship. Should I go to work?
All students should follow the guidance of the employers that they are working with regarding reporting to their internship.

I have a question about my internship or internship class. Can I get in touch with someone?
Yes, our internship advisor is available to meet with you remotely. Please email Lynne Finnegan to schedule an appointment.

I need some career services help? Is a career advisor available to meet with me?
Yes, our career services advisor is available to meet with you remotely. Please email Kathleen Jackson at kajackson@uri.edu to schedule an appointment.

Are other events College of Business events cancelled?
The Risica lecture, Spring Banquet, and Spring Splash are cancelled.

Is commencement cancelled?
The University of Rhode Island has made the difficult decision to not hold the in-person commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 16 and May 17, 2020.  More information can be found here.

I need to talk to someone. Who should I contact?
The University is operating an information hotline, and those who have questions may dial 401-874-3082. The hotline will be staffed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
