Everything you produce this year lives in one shared Google Drive workspace. It keeps your work organized, makes grading simple, and leaves you with a professional record of the whole project. Here is how it is set up.
How Your Drive Is Organized
Once teams are announced, your team receives one shared Google Drive folder. This is the team hub. Inside it you will find team level folders plus one personal folder for each designer.
Team folder
- Team Deliverables: subfolders for MPR, Poster, Slides, Video and LinkedIn. Every group submission goes here.
- Team Working Files: shared design files, code, datasheets and anything the whole team edits.
- From Technical Directors: material your Technical Director shares with the team.
- One personal folder per designer, with your name on it.
Your personal folder
- WPR: one Weekly Progress Report every Sunday.
- Homework: every homework submission for the semester.
- Student Logbook (Google Doc): pre-configured and waiting for you.
- Automated Timesheet (Google Sheet): pre-configured and waiting for you.
Your Logbook and Timesheet
Student Logbook (Google Doc)
Your detailed digital record of the project. Write long-form entries on technical progress, challenges and design decisions. Embed figures, photos, tables, equations and links to your code repositories on GitHub or similar. There are no physical logbooks.

Log your work hours. You enter only the Date, Start Time and End Time. The sheet fills in the day of the week, your weekly hours and your cumulative total for the semester. Do not type into the calculated columns.
View Example TimesheetLink the two together. The last column of the timesheet, Logbook Document Link, points each work session to the matching logbook entry. In the logbook, put a heading at the start of each day’s entry (for example, “October 7, PCB Design”), copy the link to that heading, and paste it into the timesheet row. Your timesheet becomes a clickable table of contents for your logbook.
Where Your Work Goes
Personal folder (individual work)
- Weekly Progress Reports (WPRs)
- Homework
- Logbook and timesheet
- Your own design files and notes
Team folder (group work)
- Major Progress Reports (MPR#1 and MPR#2)
- Poster, slides and video for the Mid-Year Conference
- Shared code and working files
- LinkedIn post drafts
Update your logbook and timesheet every week. Both are graded, and both are checked automatically, so keep them current rather than backfilling at the end of the semester.
