Getting to the Grocery Store with RIPTA
Looking to stock up on nutritious groceries but don’t have a ride? RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) makes it easy to get from URI Kingston Campus’ Memorial Union to nearby grocery stores. Tickets can be purchased in the Campus Store in the basement of the Memorial Union at a 50% discounted rate. Don’t forget to bring a reusable bag or backpack to carry your groceries!
How to get there:
Route 69 (URI to Galilee)
- Hop on at the URI Memorial Union.
- Stops at local plazas with food options like Shaws, Belmont Market, Stop & Shop, etc.
- Get off at Wakefield Mall which has Shaw’s and other shops.
Route 66 (URI to Providence Station)
- Hop on at the URI Memorial Union
- Stops at Wickford Train Station (Park & Ride), which is walking distance from Walmart Supercenter.
