The Early Move-In Request form will be available in MyHousing in late July.
If you need or prefer to move-in earlier than the URI Move-In 2024 start date (August 30th), you may choose to participate in URI Early Move-In Week 2024. This program allows you to access your residence hall, suite or apartment as early as Monday, August 26th.
There is a convenience charge of $75/student/day for this program based on your requested arrival date or actual arrival date, whichever is earlier. Early Move-In charges will be added to your Fall term account in late September. If you are arriving at the request of a URI department/program, you may receive a discounted rate on some or all of your early move-in charges; it is your responsibility to discuss this in advance with the sponsoring department/program.
To be eligible for URI Early Move-In Week 2024, you must be assigned to one of our residence halls, suites or apartments for Fall 2024. We are unable to accommodate students who have off-campus, Greek, or TI/IEP House assignments.
Some things to note about URI Early Move-In Week 2024:
- You must follow the rules outlined in the 2024-2025 Housing and Residential Life Agreement, the 2024-2025 Housing and Residential Life Community Policies Addendum, and the 2024-2025 Housing Cancellation Policy.
- Early move-in is a privilege, and inappropriate or disruptive behavior may result in immediate removal until the official opening.
- Overnight guests are prohibited.
- Move-in assistance is unavailable.
- Housing and other campus services may be limited.
- Meal plans will start on August 30, 2024. Before then, you can purchase meals with cash, RAM Account, Visa, or MasterCard. You can find the hours of service on the Campus Dining webpage.
- Most lots near residence halls will be for unloading only, after which you must move your vehicle(s) to resident parking lots. Parking in faculty, staff or closed lots is prohibited; your vehicle(s) may be towed. Please do not drive or park on the grass.
To participate in URI Early Move-In Week:
- Log in to MyHousing
- Select the “Applications / Forms” tab
- Select and complete the “Early Move-In Request” form
Please make every effort to submit your application at your earliest convenience. If you need to change the date of your arrival, you may return to and update this form through August 29th.
When arriving, students who do not have a University ID card should go to the Campus ID Dining Office located on the main floor in the Memorial Union right across from the info desk PRIOR to going to their hall. The ID Office is open 8 am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
